Ms. Kimberly Newsome
My name is Kimberly Newsome and I am a 6th grade teacher at Holly Hill Elementary School. I have a total of 14 years experience teaching and will be starting my 15th year this 2020-2021 school year. I graduated from Eufaula High School and attended Troy University (formally Troy State University) in Troy, Alabama. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, I moved to Enterprise and began substitute teaching. I first taught 4th grade in Ozark, Alabama. While teaching in Ozark, I earned my Masters Degree in Collaborative Education from Troy University. Finally, I found, what I believe is my place, in 6th grade at Holly Hill Elementary. This will be my 14th year teaching 6th grade. I currently teach the science curriculum, but have taught ALL 6th grade subjects.
My entire life revolves around children (teaching and my own). I have two beautiful children in high school - Emma and Owen! They are both involved with numerous activities outside of school, so my time is spent attending/helping with their activities. I also have a 4-legged "fur baby" named Ozzie.
When I do have free time, I love to read and spend time with friends. I also enjoy watching sports such as football and baseball. I enjoy going to all types of live sporting events as much as possible. I also like to dance and listen to music.
Teaching is a passion as it surrounds me with unique individuals that are learning and expanding on their own personalities and knowledge. Which in turn, helps me learn and expand my own personality and knowledge. I look forward to an exciting and successful school year with you!
