Mr. Jimmy Holcomb
Mr. Holcomb was born and raised in East Orange, New Jersey, and attended the parochial schools of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark throughout elementary and high school. Mr. Holcomb completed his undergraduate studies at New Jersey City University and continued with graduate studies at both Troy University and Grand Canyon University, respectively. Coming from a family of educators and clergymen, Mr. Holcomb brings a passion and energy for literacy to the classroom.
Mr. Holcomb has been apart of the Rucker Boulevard Elementary School community for the past seven years and has worked in both elementary and secondary education for nine years. This school year, Mr. Holcomb will be teaching sixth grade English Language Arts and American History. He is also the lead sponsor for the Junior Beta Club of RBE. Students in Mr. Holcomb's class are exposed to diverse literary genres and are given the tools necessary to foster a genuine love for reading and writing.
Outside of school, Mr. Holcomb is engaged in numerous opportunities for outreach and community impact through several Christian and private non-profit organizations and clubs. Mr. Holcomb spends his free time reading, writing short stories, travelling, and engaging in numerous visual and musical art projects.
