Mrs. Shelley Grimes
Hi, I am Shelley Grimes, the physical education teacher at Harrand Creek. I was born in Hattiesburg, MS, but was raised in Daphne, AL. I graduated from Daphne High School in 1992. I have always loved sports, as I played volleyball and tennis at DHS. After I graduated I attended Jefferson Davis Junior College in Brewton, AL where I played tennis for the Warhawks for two years and earned my Associate's degree. After Jeff Davis, I transferred to Troy State University in Troy where I pursued my Bachelor's Degree in Education: Physical Education. Before graduating in early 1998, I played one year of tennis for the Trojans and met my future husband. I married my husband, Alex, who was born and raised in Enterprise on November 11, 1998 and moved to Enterprise.
I began my teaching career at Enterprise Preparatory Academy. After one year at EPA, I was hired to teach high school students physical education and dance at Daleville High School. I was also the varsity volleyball coach, girls' track coach and my scariest accomplishment, a bus driver for our sports teams! After five years at DHS, I made the switch from big kids to little ones. I am starting my 14th year at Harrand Creek.
My husband and I have two daughters, Hannah, who is in 10th grade at Enterprise High School and Maemie, who is in 7th grade at Dauphin Jr High. In my spare time I mostl likey to stay inside (creating art) since I am outside all day every day. But....if I have to go outside I really enjoy fishing, playing tennis, and hanging out on the beach. Of course I also love to shop!
I think it is cool that I have been a Trojan, a Warhawk, then a Trojan again and then a Warhawk again and finally a HURRICANE :)
