• Alabama Broadband Connectivity Voucher Information

     

    The Alabama Broadband Connectivity (ABC) for students program will help households across Alabama access the internet this fall.  The Alabama Broadband Connectivity for Students program will provide free internet access for eligible students who are enrolled in the National School Lunch Program through their schools.

     Who is eligible?:

    Students that qualify for Free/Reduced lunch are able to apply for the ABC student internet voucher. If your student is enrolled in the National School Lunch Program through their school, you are already enrolled in the Alabama Broadband Connectivity for Students program. You will receive a prepaid voucher by U.S. mail by the end of August. Then all you’ll have to do is call the internet service provider of your choice, give them your voucher code, and sign up for service.

    How to apply for FREE/REDUCED Lunch:

    To qualify for the ABC internet voucher, students must receive Free/Reduced lunch.  To apply for Free/Reduced Meals, visit the ECS website and fill out the application online under the District tab or click on the following link Free/Reduced lunch applicaiton.

    When will we receive the ABC Voucher in the Mail:

    Families of students who currently are enrolled in the National School Lunch Program with ECS will receive an Alabama Broadband Connectivity for Students voucher by mail around August 24.

    The voucher you receive in the mail will cover the cost of equipment, installation, and high-speed internet service from the fall through December 31, 2020.
