"WHEN GIVEN THE CHOICE BETWEEN BEING RIGHT OR BEING KIND, CHOOSE KIND.”
Hillcrest Elementary believes that ALL kids can be successful leaders at school, home, church, and in the community. To this end, we teach students the 7 habits of happy (and effective) kids:
- Habit 1: Be Proactive
- Habit 2: Begin with the End In Mind
- Habit 3: Put First Things First
- Habit 4: Think Win-Win
- Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
- Habit 6: Synergize
- Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw
Each day, we discuss the habits and how students can use the habits in their everyday activities.
To access more detail about the 7 habits, reference the following link:
In addition, I will be reading and discussing with the students the novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio, which embraces the 7 habits.
