AR

  • Accelerated Reader (AR), the Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read the book independently or with a parent, and take a comprehension test on the computer. Not all Kindergarten students are ready for AR.  Many students will not start AR until first grade.  If your child knows all 100 FRY words, they might be ready for AR.

    AR's advanced technology helps you:

    • Make essential reading practice more effective for every student.
    • Personalize reading practice to each student's current level.
    • Assess students' through Reading Practice quizzes.
    • Build a lifelong love of reading and learning.

    How It Works:

    1. Students choose books at their appropriate reading levels and read them at their own pace.
    2. Student takes a quiz.
    3. Student and teacher get immediate feedback on their reading progress.
